s.172- Failing to Provide Driver Details, Withdrawn Before Trial

This Operator Licence holding company was represented at the case management hearing by Millicent Dooher, barrister, following a not guilty plea to a s.172 offence of failing to provide driver details. Prior to the hearing, Millicent was able to speak to the prosecutor and present the evidence that was to be relied upon for the trial. Following discussions, the prosecution offered no evidence on the matter. The matter was withdrawn, and the company did not have to go through the trial process saving times and costs.

S.172 offences for companies holding operator’s licences must be disclosed to the Traffic Commissioner. For this company, there was no offence and so there was no impact on their operator’s licence.
