Licence Revoked Under New Driver Provisions Back on the Road with SBC
We represented a driver, who discovered that his licence had been revoked without any notice. Laura Newton was instructed to assist and it was discovered that paperwork relating to a prosecution has been sent to an old address. He had 6 points imposed in absence and DVLA had revoked his Licence as a New Driver within 2 years of passing his test. He was able to make a Statutory Declaration at our office, instead of waiting months attend Court. This had the effect of removing the conviction and penalty points, DVLA in turn restored his Licence. The driver then had the chance to start the prosecution proceedings again, pleading guilty to a speeding offence carrying just 3 points, and agreeing that a more serious offence of Failing to Identify a Driver was withdrawn, avoiding the New Driver revocation.
